Content Description:

This program will teach participants how to identify when a client is experiencing trauma as a result of a traumatic birthing experience and respond with evidenced-based therapeutic techniques.

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

  1. 2 Distinguishing factors to identify when a client is experiencing trauma related to their birthing experience.

  2. Identify 5 treatment options using evidenced-based techniques for trauma experienced when giving birth.

  3. Identify 4 goals of treatment for trauma.

  4. Identify and distinguish 3 DSM-5 diagnosis related to a traumatic birthing experience.

  5. Identify 6 risk factors that increase the odds of one experiencing trauma during the birthing experience
