LPC Supervision for LPC Candidates

Supervision is an opportunity to enhance your clinical practice skills and while many see this as an “end to a means” in reality, it’s an important relationship that can yield benefits for the supervisee during and after the supervisory relationship ends upon becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Upon creating our group practice, we both explored what our supervision experiences were like and agreed it could be something so much bigger than meeting and completing the required documentation. We want to provide for you the best clinical supervision possible in a way that guides and enhances your ability to relate to your clients, understand the impact that therapy has on you as an individual and offers tools that you can use for a lifetime. This includes:

  • A niche focus – both of us are trained in Evidence Based Practices and have spent our careers focusing on perinatal women and young children. We both believe that focusing on specific populations enhances your ability to provide quality services.

  • A belief that the supervisory relationship does not end upon meeting the LPC Boards requirements. We hope to offer you a relationship that continues beyond the years through consultation, collaboration and mentorship.

  • Dedication to growing and enhancing clinicians who feel held, supported and valued, so that clinicians can hold, support and value their clients in a way that is meaningful.

  • An understanding that there are parallels between the quality of supervision you receive, and the quality of services clients receive. This is important because strong clinicians build strong women and children – our impact is important and too many clinicians leave supervision without understanding how broad their reach CAN be.

  • A belief that Supervision is more than the money you put into it: it is a dedication to yourself and your clients and your career. Your money is paying for a minimum of 45 minutes of 1:1 supervision and 45 minutes of group supervision each week.

  • Unique knowledge that operating a successful practice and building a strong reputation takes time and we understand our role in helping you create both of these important qualities. Throughout our supervisory relationship, we will help you develop and hone the tools necessary for you to serve your clients after licensure.

We both understand that this is a time in your life that you will struggle a bit financially, - we’ve been there – but we know that preparing for a career as a clinician who provides the best services possible, knows when and where to seek consultation and has a unique skill set required to build a successful practice builds potential. Considering the bottom line is important, but more important is considering your return on investment. This is what we bring to the table and we can’t wait to offer you support and expertise through a supervisory relationship we hope lasts for years to come!
