The Nurturing Mamas Network Training Institute has trained thousands of clinicians in Advanced Perinatal Mental Health since 2022.

Clock Hours: 3

Synchronous Distance Course

Target Audience: behavioral health and social workers who serve in the role of counseling/therapy.

Content Description:

In this Intermediate Level Program, Perinatal clinicians regularly hold space for clients experiencing loss, infertility, trauma, and other deeply personal challenges that may mirror or activate aspects of our own reproductive stories. This repeated exposure to emotionally intense material, combined with the personal nature of the work, can increase vulnerability to burnout, compassion fatigue, moral injury, and secondary traumatization. This training explores how these challenges can affect clinical work and addresses considerations such as self-disclosure, pregnancy disclosure, and social media use. Participants will learn practical strategies for sustaining their well-being, energy, and professionalism.

Learning Objectives:

1.     Examine the impact of burnout, moral injuries, compassion fatigue and secondary traumatization on perinatal mental health clinicians

2.     Identify additional unique aspects of perinatal mental health therapy

3.     Discuss compassion satisfaction, purpose and meaning

4.     Explore effective self-care practices

This interactive synchronous distance/live interactive(live virtual) webinar is offered on zoom on the dates listed below. Please note: registration must be completed by 10:00 p.m. CST on the day before your scheduled training session. This live webinar takes place on Zoom and is fully interactive.
