Content Description:

This Intermediate course clinicians will learn how to assess for maternal anger, identify common triggers and distortions that lead to maternal anger, and utilize therapeutic techniques to treat anger and strengthen relationships.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  1. Utilize 2 or more screening tools and self-report measures to assess for Maternal Anger

  2. Identify 3 or more common triggers for Maternal Anger

  3. Identify 5 cognitive distortions that lead to Maternal Anger 

  4. Utilize 3 therapeutic techniques to effectively treat Maternal Anger

  5. Utilize 3 therapeutic techniques to strengthen client’s communication skills and improve relationships

Presenter Name and Qualifications:

Sabrina Jaspers MSW, RSW, PMH-C

Sabrina Jaspers is a Registered Social Worker with 18 years of clinical experience, including 14 years of direct counseling and work in mental health. Specializing in perinatal and maternal mental health, Sabrina holds a Master's degree and is passionate about supporting new and seasoned parents. In addition to training with Nurturing Mamas Network, she runs support groups focused on maternal anger and is actively involved in community development, creating peer support postpartum groups across Ontario. Sabrina’s work reflects her deep commitment to mental wellness, community involvement, and the empowerment of individuals during the perinatal period and beyond.

In this recorded asynchronous distance course, attendees will watch a recorded video from a webinar held on 3/31/2025.

Course completion requirements: behavioral health and social workers must attend the entire course and complete a course evaluation to be eligible for ce credit. Behavioral Health and social workers must pass the posttest with 80% in 3 attempts to be eligible for ce credit. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 2 business days of course completion. 

Nurturing Mamas Network has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7232. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Nurturing Mamas Network is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
