In this training one will learn how ptsd symptoms present differently in the perinatal population and therapeutic techniques for treatment.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify 3 main findings and theories from biomedical, psychological, and social research that are central to a trauma-informed and -responsive approach to Perinatal Mental Health.
2. Describe and explain 3 ways core PTSD symptoms present differently in the Perinatal Period.
3. Explain 2 principles of trauma-informed care and how they apply to the unique needs of diverse perinatal clients.
4. Explain 3 unique needs of perinatal clients require adaptation and psychoeducation of nervous system-focused clinical interventions.
