Content Description:
Have you completed a foundational perinatal loss training and are now looking to further advance your clinical knowledge and skills? This live, virtual training delves into the limitations of the traditional 5 stages of grief model, particularly as it applies to working with bereaved parents, and helps one obtain clinical skills from contemporary grief models.
Presenter: Lauren Redding, MSW, LCSW, PMH-C
Learning Objectives:
Identify elements of the 5 Stages of Grief theory, understand the model’s original intended use, and 2 or more ways it is limited with bereaved perinatal parents.
Identify 3 or more contemporary grief models to use in clinical work in place of the 5 Stages theory.
Understand 2 or more ways these contemporary grief models can be utilized in clinical work with loss parents.
Practice 3 or more clinical skills through case examples and break out sessions.
This training is a great follow up to our 3 hr “Perinatal Loss” training. We recommend pairing it with a training that focuses on a modality such as “Act for Women’s Mental Health”. We also recommend following it up with our training titled “Helping Clients Navigate the Waiting Period”.
